RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of technical professionals to drive innovation, ensure product quality, and support business growth within the SEA region. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies that align with the company's overall objectives.
- Work with management and other departments to establish clear goals and action plans that support the business strategy.
- Manage and develop a team of Technical Team Leaders, Chemists, and Technicians, providing guidance and mentorship to drive their performance.
- Manage a portfolio of technical projects, prioritizing tasks, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, formula simplification, and process improvement to enhance profitability.
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, end-user applications, and competitive landscape.
- Conduct regular benchmarking activities to monitor competitor products and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in or lead cross-functional project teams to leverage expertise and drive successful outcomes.
- Share best practices and learnings with the global Powder Center of Excellence and other regional labs to foster collaboration and knowledge transfer.
- Ensure adherence to product quality standards and specifications.
- Stay updated on the latest formulation technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Commercial team to ensure successful product trials and launches, providing technical support on customers' application lines when required.
- Coach, guide, and provide ongoing feedback to facilitate the development of subordinates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate with Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- 8-10 years’ work experience in a technical / R&D / Lab role within the chemical industrial sector
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Participation in customer visits and line trials across the region depending on market segment/customer type supported.
