The Finance Director plays a pivotal leadership role within our organization, responsible for driving financial excellence while upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Scope of role:
As the Finance Director, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of providing essential financial services to the Group. Your role encompasses:
- Overseeing management, financial, and statutory accounting and reporting for the member businesses of the group.
- Maintaining and enhancing the group's system of accounting and financial controls.
- Managing cash and treasury management operations, including bank relationships and reporting.
- Leading the preparation of the Group's annual budget, forecasts, projections, and financial plans.
- Serving as the principal liaison with tax advisors to ensure tax compliance across group entities.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and overseeing the production of audited accounts and statutory returns for group companies.
- Leading by example to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ethical excellence across the organization.
Key tasks and responsibilities
To accomplish these responsibilities, you will:
- Develop and maintain documented operating procedures for financial systems to ensure effective internal controls.
- Ensure the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of recording and reporting systems for comprehensive business performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Director to validate the appropriateness and accuracy of costing and performance analysis systems.
- Oversee project reporting accuracy, credible forward projections, and the evaluation of new business proposals.
- Monitor insurance purchasing costs, security, and claims experience, including self-insured aspects.
- Manage the Finance/Accounting Department and its operations.
- Provide essential support to the credit control function.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the CEO.

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in AEC is an advantage.
