Responsibilities

Basic functions of the job:

  • Responsible for Quality functions for designated manufacturing site. Escalation path for quality related risk assessments and decision making.
  • Maintain the system and continually improve its effectiveness to enhance customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Provide product and service that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements to support our business.
  • Lead team to solve quality issues.
  • Leads experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments.
  • Experienced leadership required.
  • Leads extended alpine mountain-climbing trips
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s). Manages Area of responsibility. Efficient use of time, maximize resources, gets the job done. A strong tactical decision maker.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
  • Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. In some instances, this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.
  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.
  • Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
  • Drive quality products and services delivered to customers with the most cost efficiency, fully satisfy and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • QA MANAGEMENT: 70%
    • Control, manager, teach, and coach various teams, includes but not limits to: QE, IQC, IPQC, Testing/Reliability, OQC, CCC.
    • Ensure quality products and services delivered to customers with the most cost efficiency, fully customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
    • Understand sufficiently and correctly products, customer quality requirements.
    • Deploy quality management system, tools from end-to-end process to ensure quality meet customer expectation
    • Respond quickly and accurately to customers.
    • Effective QMS, customer requirement compliance 
    • Identify, own, deploy resources efficiently.
  • PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT: 30%
    • Ensure your team is staffed, motivated, inspired, engaged, and empowered to deliver a high and sustainable performance level in an ever-changing environment at a cost level the organization can sustain and reflects market realities
    • Ensure you have the right people in the right jobs, by consistently using proper interview and selection techniques and methodologies throughout your organization
    • Ensure a learning environment is in place and your team is trained and developed to consistently achieve your organization’s expectations in both the short and long terms.
    • Ensure the Performance Management Process is fully operating with meaningful stretch goals for all employees in your organization, that feedback is on-going and focused on development and done with 100% On Time Delivery

Requirements

Educational Background: BS degree in engineering or sciences, prefer from the field of optics engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering.

Experience: 

  • Typically, 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Typically requires 3+ years managerial/leadership experience
  • Special abilities: 
  • Equipped with technical expertise in manufacturing/engineering quality assurance, reliability engineering.
  • Extensive background of using statistical and QA/QC tools to collect, research, and analyze data.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, FMEA, SPC, Customer service handling, 8D, and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Demonstrated project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, ability to handle multiple priorities and complex issues.
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency.
